Here at Terminus, we are fortunate to have a robust Elk population and cherish the opportunity to hunt these remarkable animals. This is one of the few opportunities in North America for rifle hunting elk during the rut.
In early fall, when the nights get cooler and the weather starts changing drastically in the mountains, we see and hear the Bulls rutting more day after day. This is one of our most action-packed hunts and a favorite of both clients and guides.

The rut is when your hunt begins, bugling, spotting, and stalking. Terminus Mountain Outfitter Elk Hunts are conducted 1×1 or 2×1 on horseback or backpacking out of a mountain camp, cabins, or the main Lodge.
We consistently take 300 to 330 class bull elk with opportunities for larger, and maintain our professional management in order to keep it that way. These Hunts can be combined perfectly well with Canadian Moose and/or Mountain Goats. We only take 5 hunters per year, which keeps our trophy quality and hunting experience high.
